Rubiks Collective

Rubiks is Melbourne’s newest contemporary art music ensemble, bringing together some of Australia’s most exciting and versatile young performers. Delighting audiences with their unique programming and dedication to the celebration of contemporary music in Australia, these dynamic musicians have quickly established a reputation for excellence.

Formed at the Australian National Academy of Music, the musicians of Rubiks have collectively appeared in festivals including the Sydney and Melbourne International Arts Festivals, Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music, Bang on a Can Festival, Peninsula Summer Music Festival, Port Fairy Spring Music Festival and Huntington Estate Music Festival. Rubiks was selected as Forest Collective’s 2015 Ensemble in Residence, were featured in the Kew Court House Future Classic series, and performed alongside Forest in the 2015 Metropolis New Music Festival.

In 2017, Rubiks will present a concert at the Melbourne Recital Centre as artists in the Spotlight Series, featuring a portrait of composer, Meredith Monk.
